Hello again folks!

I would not qualify myself as an uber Lizzie Kate Designs lover... while I do like some of their stuff. It just so happens that I simply like other charts better and want to complete them first. But recently I picked up this chart by LK because I love the message that it brings.

Eventually I'll work toward stitching the whole set but for now this message is perfect for me.

Anyway, in purchasing this chart I've opened myself up a little more to LK. Gotta have an open mind right? Well I think I've just gone crazy... I've just splurged BIG TIME on this:

I've been completely and utterly sucked into the idea of a MYSTERY SAMPLER CLUB. *SLURP*

Thankfully ABC Stitch is offering this club online, I didn't have a LNS to turn to you see. So THANK YOU ABC Stitch! Not only will I get the mystery sampler chart in 3 parts, 3 additional designs will be included, All the floss and fibres required, AND I'll be getting the appropriate weeks dye works fabric. YEY!

Now all I have to do is hurry up and wait hehe.

One last quick thing - here's my June TUSAL report.

... nada! I've been merrily stitching away at my friendship sampler and not one of my ORTs have made it into the jar. Not that I've had many ORTs because I've been conserving my thread like a maniac because I'm terrified to run out of the floss I'm using... for fear of having to wait weeks to get more.

Ciao for now!

Hello again Folks!

First off welcome to my new followers and thank you to all for the lovely comments I've received on my previous posts these last couple of days :)

I think I'm going to have to drag myself away from the plethora of cross stitching sites out there... I am officially going STASH CRAZY! I don't mean picking up the occasional chart or piece of fabric here and there... I mean checking places like 123stitch.com almost everyday to see what's new and exciting. I have lots of projects waiting for me but I just want moreeeeeee. For instance... silkweaver fabrics weekly facebook sales of its fabrics... well I'm the person screaming at the computer screen screaming 'MEEEEE', yet some how managing to keep my fingers from hitting the enter button and buying those marvellous, delicious, divine fabrics ...

When I'm not in buying mode I drool over the stash I have thinking 'soon my pretty, soon...'

SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!! How do I cure this itch???

AHhhhhhhhh!

This message was brought to you by cross stitch nut Melissa... now back to our regular programming.

This past weekend was a BLAST. Lots of friends, family, fishing and stitching! I'd definitely qualify May 24th weekend and IHSW a success. Here's some photo's of the May 24th weekend festivities:

My man being foolish!

Brother fishing with is freezing little pup...

The May 24th Gang!

And now another weekend is upon us!!! YEY. I have a concert I'm heading to tomorrow night - another YEY. This particular concert I've been literally waiting for forever. I'm not kidding... I bought my tickets back in November for the show in March which then got postponed to MAY! YIKES! Now I'm not what you call a fanatic... but it's rare to get concerts this big in such a small place... so you take what you can get. Of course it helps that I actually enjoy the band :)

Besides anticipating another weekend full of activities, this week I've actually managed to achieve LOADS of stitching in... I just can't update you on much seeing as one of my stitchy projects is top secret. But I did get a little progress in on my Friendship Sampler - che bella no?

Also, here is my May TUSAL jar for this month - as you can tell I've been busy! And these are  only the threads that I managed to catch from other sneaky fingers/paws.

These being the mischievous buggers...

They are not as innocent as they look I promise. You just have to get past the pile of cuteness and I swear you'll see that they would like nothing more than chew-up every shoe in the house so that you never leave again because you have nothing to wear on your feet!

Until next time!

Ciao tutti!

Pre-warning, a very picture heavy post upcoming.

Thank you EVERYONE for the very kind comments on my last post and welcome to my new followers :)

I didn't hermit much this weekend as I had plans to go to my cabin with the family. What a great weekend it was! The weather co-operated, and has been strangely warm this past week. Generally it's not that warm in April here, but it has just been fantastic lately. So of course I had to take advantage of this luck!

View from my Cabin's Balcony
The trees and shrubs haven't quite come back to life but it's getting there! Saturday the boyfriend and I went for the most fabulous walk to the lighthouse in Ferryland. Honestly, of all the small fishing communities left in the Newfoundland this community is my favourite. The lighthouse stands on a strip of land (and rock) the juts out into the ocean. The views are un-beatable and I love sitting on the barrens and taking it all in. In the summer, if you're lucky, you can even see hump back whales. I once saw one so close to shore here that I could even see the barnacles on the whale's back. CRAZY! Such an awesome sight. Below you'll find some of my pic's from the outing :)

Ferryland Lighthouse

The boyfriend and I admiring the swells

Leia enjoying the barrens, soon she'll be hunting on barrens like this!!!

Fluked into this pic... puppies generally don't stay still for very long.
Found the most adorable lambs and their shaggy looking mama :) Couldn't help myself hehe

Back at the cabin, I got two of my favourite things in... cooking and stitching.

Newfie chic BBQ

Warmest place in the cabin = the best place to have bread rise!

In terms of stitching, I worked mostly on the small below - so cute! The backstitching was painstaking and it took a whole lot longer than expected but all for a good cause. It's a card for Ellie Dixon - a young girl in Ireland going through something no little girl should have to... 18 months of chemo!!! But she seems so brave about it all! Anyway sending this off tomorrow. Ellie's mom has created the blog site called Cards for Ellie if you're interested in learning more about Ellie and what makes this girl so amazing.

I soooooo needed a break from 'Oh Christmas Tree' so I concentrated my stitching efforts on my Papillon SAL. I am absolutely loving learning the speciality stitches this SAL has introduced so far. Also this represents my first attempt at using evenweave! Likin' it so far. The fabric is a pleasure to work with and is 28ct Irish Linen.

Finally, I'll leave you with my TUSAL update for April! Love the reds and golds!!!

Happy Stitching my dears!
