Happy Tuesday Folks!
I've been forced to contemplate my laziness after trolling all your lovely little blogs this week. Yes, I have finally made some progress on my LK* WIP.... but this is not what I'm referring to when I'm talking about my laziness. Nope! I'm actually making progress on that - but more on that later. In fact my laziness is embodied in these little critters:
Yup, those are all my ORTS hanging out on the arm of my stitching chair. Would you like to know how OLD those ORTS are?... [oh the shame....] going on 4 months old!!!! I am beginning to seriously doubt whether they'll make it to my TUSAL jar at all (which I haven't added to in ages...).
What are some of my other lazy habits you might ask? Well, perhaps it's that shirt that just doesn't seem to make the hamper once it's on my ottoman in my room, or the coat that doesn't get hung up, or perhaps the half full glass of water that doesn't make it to the dishwasher for a day or two. I am by no means a dirty person, but the effort it takes to pick up that one piece of clothing or clean up that glass of water is enough to make me put off putting them where they belong for a day or two (or three.... MORE SHAME!). But I make myself feel better by knowing that EVERYONE (yes you!) have their own lazy little habits. Or at least I like to think you do. So please feel free to share your own lazy secret in the comments section below! Make me feel better haha :)
On a more proactive note - I was a busy bee over the weekend!
Saturday afternoon I went to Winefest with the beau... 4 hours later and a few dollars lighter (well maybe a little more than a few) I arrived home somehow sober, despite my best efforts, and with 6 new bottles of wine in tow... to be devoured at some point in the future.
Ohhhhh but the day was not over yet! The boyfriend and I then began brewing our next concoction of beer. Being ever seasonal, it was a Spiced Pumpkin Porter Ale! Clad in PJs, hair sticking out every which way, and long wooden spoon in hand, I boiled and toiled for what seemed like hours... you could probably draw a comparison to your stereotypical witchy crone standing over their cauldron and you would not be far off the truth.
Of course, a night spent in the kitchen would not be complete without a last minute run to the grocery store (with 5 minutes to spare I might add!). Yet for some reason, completely unknown to me, I loved EVERY second. Yup - crazy person sitting right here :) In all seriousness though, I seriously cannot wait to try this ale out! While everything else stank, the spices smell delish! I'm not what you call a beer drinker... And, despite what this post may lead you to believe, drinking is not an everyday occurrence!!! Just want to put that out there ;)

Sunday, thankfully less hectic, was my stitching day! I haven't had one of these in a LOOOOOOOOOONG time. I stitched stitched stitched to my hearts content, absorbing any halloween/creepy movie that fell into my lap. An awesome day! Polished off an exchange piece and even put in a few stitches in my LK* Mystery Sampler. Here's my progress so far:
Thats all for now!
Have a great week!
Melissa

Your WIP looks great! And don't worry about the laziness - I do the water glass thing too! :D We all have our little oddities, don't we?
ReplyDeleteJust been reading your post & giggling away! Try to picture the sound when I said giggling because I currently have a cold... so probably sound more like a pig than a human being :D Love all you progress and can totally understand when you say being a bit lazy.... Little things can sometime take forever to get sorted!!!
ReplyDeleteOohhh, I love the purple house in the Lizzie Kate!
ReplyDeleteMy lazy habits...well don't tell my husband, but instead of changing bed linen every week, I just wash the pillow cases once a week and he thinks he's getting into a lovely clean bed! ;0) I just can't face washing and ironing a king size duvet cover & pillowcases every week! Shhh...don't tell...
Your Mystery Sampler is looking good.

Mystery Sampler looks great! I'd love to try your beer!
ReplyDeleteo my, such brave ORTs! If I left them on the edge of the chair, the cats would eat them for sure!!
ReplyDeleteNope, not a lazy person here. Don't mind that pile of papers that have migrated from the desk... to the filing cabinet... and now to the floor... I should just put them away and be done with it. But they're all the way down there and it's so very far away to move them three feet into the filing cabinet...
Your stitching look lovely and congrats on brewing more beer, lol!
Your Mystery Sampler is lookin' great! Maybe I'll get inspired to get back to mine!
ReplyDeleteI tend to let the dishes pile up. I H.A.T.E. washing dishes and have since I was 7 years old! And I'm old-school and do them by hand since we don't have the automatic-electric-money guzzling kind!
Great progress on your LK piece. It sounds like you are having fun. I hope that the ale is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great weekend. Your habits sound very similar to mine, so you are not alone.
ReplyDeleteGreat progress! You've been stitching more than throwing away your ORTs. LOL
ReplyDeleteGorgeous stitching Melissa!!! Love the mystery sampler!
ReplyDeleteSome days I wake up with my hair sticking out every which way, lol. I refer to it as my Medusa look.
ReplyDeleteYour WIP looks good!
