Long time no see?!?! I've been a little MIA over the last couple of weeks haven't I? Shame on me, life just gets in the way sometimes I guess.
It has been unbearably hot here for the past couple weeks... lots of humidity... high temps... I shouldn't complain but I can't help it. When it is too humid to sleep, well that just makes me cranky. Beyond that, not much to report! My summer has been flying!
I have managed to complete the June wordplay I was working on over the past couple of weeks this morning in fact. I love the way it turned out I have to say. When I get around to turning it into something I'll post another pic :)
Isn't she sweet! Leia is probably the most easy going dog I've ever seen and always has her nose sniffing. I don't think she quite knows that to make of my cross stitch from the looks of the picture I think. Haha.
The last time I posted I remarked on the blueberries that were growing in about the house. They were abundant then and they're still pumping out the largest blue berries I have ever seen in Newfoundland. Well we've made lots of muffins and pies at this point. When looking for something to bring to a party tonight the BF thought it would be an excellent idea to make a Blueberry Crumble out of the berries we picked a couple of days ago. Here's the final product:
Boy! Do I ever have a great BF :)
Now that I've got your mouth watering I'll say goodbye for today.
Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!
Melissa

ReplyDeleteWhat a yummy post! The crumble looks amazing and I love your Wordplay finish!
ReplyDeleteYour June Word Play finish is adorable! I just bought it, too, but plan to wait and stitch it next June. It must be wonderful to be surrounded by all those juicy blueberries in Newfoundland! Enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteThat blueberry crumble looks amazing. Warm with a little ice cream.....now I'm hungry! I love those word plays but so far have resisted buying one.
ReplyDeleteAaaah, seeing a blueberry crumble while hungry is not helpful at all! Your summery project is lovely as well!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely new finish. It's not always a pleasure to stitch while it's so hot. Except you have air conditioning, lol. We don't so I often have to stop stitching and get some ice cold water into my face and onto my hands so that I can continue stitching.
ReplyDeleteThat picture of the blueberry pie makes my mouth water. I have to go and have some ice cream now, lol.
Oh no, it's a blueberry crumble, not a pie - that's even better!
ReplyDeleteHello
ReplyDeleteYour finish is lovely and you have a very cute doggy.
Have a good week.

Gorgeous finish and I love that photo of Leia sniffing your finish!! So cute! Mmm that blueberry pie speaks to my heart!
ReplyDeleteThat turned out pretty cute! Can't wait to see how you finish it.
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of your blueberries! Blueberries are not common here in northern England, and so I have yet to try blueberry wine. Also, we have been having a dreadful summer, so everything is several weeks late. Ordinarily I would be blackberrying this weekend, but I am going to have to leave it till mid September. Bah! Thanks for the follow by the way.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, I just signed on. I see you have an Irish Setter. We have had 4 only one at a time. 2 females Holly and Brandy 2 males Shaemus and Tucker. Tucker is a great dog he is 10 years going on 2. I am a Canadian too. I live in south western Ontario. Hope you keep in touch, thanks for adding me to your blog!
